Truetone D2210 - 1940 model
Another radio like Granny had when I was a kid.
This is an interesting radio in the fact that it uses a metal cabinet with a faux wood grain printed on it. This particular one was terribly rusty and there wasn't much that could be done to restore it. I gave it a light sanding and a coat of toned lacquer to allow the bad spots to blend in. It came out fairly nice.
Another novelty with this set is that is uses permeability tuning. That means that the tuning is done with slug-tuned coils as opposed to the more typical tuning capacitor. This is commonly found in auto radios of a later era.
